The Japanese Government has provided 243,000 USD in non-refundable aid to upgrade and extend two primary schools in the northern provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang.
A ceremony to mark the signing of the contracts was held in Hanoi on January 30.
Duong Thanh school in Thai Nguyen and Ngoc Son school in Bac Giang are located in areas where the level of poor households is between 15-32 percent. Both schools were built many years ago and are in poor condition today.
The renovated schools will mean more classrooms and a better environment for students.
Addressing the function, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yasuki Tanizaki said the projects would deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.-VNA
