Among theprojects, the 95-million-USD Binh Duong Canary mall funded by theJapanese leading retailer Aeon Corp. is in its final phase and will beput into operation in November, said Mai Hung Dung, Director of thesouthern province’s Department of Planning and Investment.
Locatedat the Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park 1 in Thuan An township, theshopping centre offers 45,000sq.m out of its 75,000sq.m for businessactivities. Once completed, it is expected to generate jobs for over1,500 workers
Meanwhile, the Tokyu Binh DuongGarden City, which is being developed with an investment of 1.2 billionUSD by Becamex Tokyu - a joint venture between Becamex IDC and Japanesetown developer Tokyu Corp., has also completed disbursement for itssub-projects.
Its sub-project Sora Gardens I, whichconsists of a residential, service and shopping complex, is scheduled tobe operational this year.
According to theprovincial People’s Committee, the locality has so far attracted morethan 2,300 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital ofnearly 19.8 billion USD.
Japan remains the largestinvestor in the southern province with over 220 projects and nearly 5billion USD disbursed, focusing on high technology, electronics, medicalequipment, food processing, infrastructure and urban areas.-VNA
