Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Vietnam's fighters have left for Brunei to take part in the Southeast Asian Karate Championships 2025.
This year tournament will hold competitions for senior U21 and junior athletes in both kata (performance) and kumite (combat) disciplines.
Taking part are Asian champions Hoang Thi My Tam, Nguyen Thi Ngoan, Dinh Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly and Chu Van Duc in the combat category and Nguyen Thi Phuong, Luu Thi Thu Uyen and Nguyen Ngoc Tram in the performance.
The current regional reigning champions are hoping to defend their titles at the tournament.
Nearly 500 athletes from 11 countries will compete from June 14 to 19 at the Hassanal Bolkiah Sport Complex, Berakas.
Last year, Vietnam topped the medal tally with 21 gold, 21 silver and 32 bronze medals./.
