Key bridge in northwest gets final link

Construction of the bridge with abutments of 98 metres high, the highestabutment in the country, started in May 2007 and it is expected to openinto traffic in July this year.

The 918 m long, 9m wide bridge was built at an investment capital of 740billion VND (43.5 million USD) invested by the Ministry of Transport.

Addressing the ceremony on April 18, Transport Minister Ho Nghia Dungsaid the project will create a nearest link between the two northwesternprovinces of Son La and Lai Chau and effectively serve socio-economicdevelopment strategy and national defence in the region./.

HCM City tackles fishing violations at roots

As of December 9, all of the 4,475 fishing vessels in HCM City had registered and updated in the VNFishbase database, of them 4,268 licensed. The remainder, classified as ineligible, are strictly monitored and kept moored locally, with no permission to put to sea.

Vietnam, IAEA comprehensively assess national nuclear power infrastructure
