Kien Giang (VNA) – The investigation unit under the Kien Giang Department of Public Security on September 22 began legal proceedings against and detained a woman for her attempt to “overthrow the people’s administration”.
During an emergency search of the residence of 63-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Chau in An Binh ward, Rach Gia city, the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, the police found 3,000 pamphlets containing content that incites disturbances of public security and order.
The documents were set to be distributed during holidays, aiming to overthrow the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as directed by the terrorist organisation “Chinh phu Quoc gia Vietnam lam thoi” (the provisional national government of Vietnam).
The police also seized various equipment and materials used for drafting and printing the pamphlets, and others.
Chau confessed that she had contacted some members of the organisation, led by Dao Minh Quan, through Facebook to receive guidance. Chau’s task was to prepare for the distribution of the aforementioned pamphlets during holidays.

Man sentenced to 6 years in jail for anti-State propaganda
The People's Court of Hanoi city imposed a six-year prison sentence on a local man for making, storing, disseminating or propagating information, documents or materials aiming to oppose the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at a first-instance trial on September 10.
