KonTum holds funeral for remains of 29 martyrs

A sombre funeral service for 29 sets of Vietnamese martyrs’s remains who fought as volunteers in Laos and Cambodia, was held in Ngoc Hoi district in the Central Highland province of KonTum on May 7.
A sombre funeral service for 29 sets of Vietnamese martyrs’s remains who fought as volunteers in Laos and Cambodia, was held in Ngoc Hoi district in the Central Highland province of KonTum on May 7.

Attending the event were the leaders of provincial People’s Committee and representatives from the Lao province of Sekong, Atopu, Champasak and Cambodia’ Rattanakiri province.

The remains were gathered by search team K53 which belongs to the Kon Tum provincial Military Command, in 2009.

Earlier, on May 6, a ceremony to honour Vietnamese martyrs who laid down their lives in Laos was also held in Champasak province./.
