Da Nang (VNA)Training vessel BADARO from the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Coast Guard Academy docked in Tien Sa port, the central city of Da Nang on May 3 to begin a four-day friendly visit to Vietnam.

The vessel, led by Director Kim Du-seok, arrived with 124 officers and 45 crew members aboard.

During the stay, officers from the Korean ship are due to pay courtesy calls to the city’s leaders and the Vietnam Coast Guard High Command, exchange experience in dealing with pollution and managing maritime environment, and play friendly matches with their counterparts from the Coast Guard Region 2.

The Vietnam Coast Guard and the RoK’s Coast Guard Academy are both active members of the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) and the Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM).

Both sides have closely worked together on strengthening law enforcement at sea.

It is the third visit by the Korean side.-VNA
