The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has been awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order for the second time in recognition of its significant contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and State.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung presented the noble decoration to the ministry at a ceremony in Hanoi on August 19 to mark the ministry’s 70th traditional day (August 28).

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam affirmed that in the past seven decades, the sector has continually held an important role in implementing labour and social welfare policies.

The sector’s operations have directly affected the lives of all Vietnamese families and helped improve socio-political stability and the investment environment.

The Deputy PM hoped the sector would continue to build on policies relating to labour, employment, poverty reduction and social welfare while carrying out campaigns to encourage its staff to study and follow late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.

MoLISA was one of the first ministries of the provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam launched by President Ho Chi Minh on August 28, 1945.-VNA
