Lao Cai (VNA) – Border guards of the northern province of LaoCai have arrested a suspect who was illegally transporting two bricks of heroin(nearly 0.7 kg) in Na Loc 4 village, Ban Lau commune, Muong Khuong district.
Lu A Cau, born in 1977 and residing in Tam Dinh village, Son Thuycommune, Van Ban district, was stopped by local border guards patrolling Na Locvillage for checking on June 23. He resisted fiercely but was then seized by theborder guards.
In the Ban Lau Border Post, Cau confessed that he was transporting theheroin to the border area for sale.
Along with the drugs, the authorities also seized a motorbike, two cellphones, 191 RMB and 878,000 VND. The case is under further investigation.
Earlier on June22, police in Song Ma district of the northern border province of Son La caughttwo suspects who were smuggling a large amount of drugs.
The authoritiesseized 36 bricks of heroin, two mobile phones, three motorbikes and otherrelated exhibits.-VNA
