Lao, Cambodian veterans welcomed in Hanoi

The delegations arein Vietnam to attend the fifth patriotic emulation congress of theVeterans’ Association of Vietnam (VAVN) and a ceremony marking theassociation’s 25th founding anniversary (December 6, 1989-2014).

At the event, Trinh voiced his wish for the incessant development ofthe friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and Laosand Cambodia as well as between the VAVN and the Lao and CambodianVeterans’ Associations.

He asked the Lao andCambodian organisations to enhance cooperation and all-level delegationexchanges with the VAVN so as to strengthen their ties, thus effectivelyeducating their members and the young generations on the traditionalfriendship between Vietnam and their two neighbours.

Chairman of the Lao association Somphon Keomisay said his countryalways appreciates Vietnam’s wholehearted assistance to its nationalliberation and construction, adding that participating in the VAVN’scongress is an opportunity for his association to exchange experiencewith the Vietnamese side, thus fostering Laos-Vietnam relations.

Meanwhile, Deputy General Secretary of the Cambodian association YiYuan thanked Vietnam for helping his country escape from the Khmer Rougegenocidal regime in the past as well as develop currently whileexpressing his hope for reinforced solidarity and affiliation among thethree countries.-VNA

Deputy PM asks for highest education quality, safety for students

Regarding the construction of inter-level boarding schools in border communes, all 108 schools under Phase 1 opened for the 2026-2027 academic year, with 40 having completed all construction items. Sea turtle nests on Lam Dong's Hon Cau island for sixth time this year

Since the beginning of 2026, sea turtles have nested six times at three beaches on Hon Cau island, namely Nhat, Mui Tau and Ba Hon. Three nests were left undisturbed at safe locations, while another three were relocated to the incubation area for protection, involving a total of 246 eggs.
