Kien Giang (VNA) – Vo Van Thuong, head of the CommunistParty of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Information and EducationCommission, received Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, head of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s Commission for Propaganda andTraining, in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang on August 2.

Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, who is also President of the LaoNational Council for Social Sciences, is in Vietnam to attend the fifththeoretical workshop between the two Parties.

At the meeting, Thuong expressed his belief that theworkshop, together with other activities marking the 55th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties and 40 years of the signing of theVietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, will help boost the specialsolidarity between the two countries as well as cooperation between the twoParties in a practical and effective manner.

Host and guest reviewed collaboration between the two commissionsover the past time and discussed measures to enhance the affiliation in thetime ahead.

They agreed to closely work with each other in implementingagreements reached by the two countries’ leaders and increase the exchange ofinformation and experience, thus contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The same day, Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune had a working sessionwith Vice Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Theoretical Council Phung HuuPhu.

They assessed the implementation of cooperation agreementsbetween the CPV Central Committee’s Theoretical Council and the Lao NationalCouncil for Social Sciences during 2013-2017 as well as orientations for theirpartnership in the next five years.-VNA

452 lawmakers, or 94.56% of the total number of deputies present, voted in favour the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax, while the amended Excise Tax Law was adopted with 448 out of 454 deputies present voting in favour, accounting for 93.72% of the total.
