Lao’s Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun Sioulith received Vice Director of the Commission for External Relations under the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Pham Xuan Son on March 24.

The four-day visit by a Vietnamese Party delegation, starting on March 23, is being made on the occasion of the 55th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).

Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun Sioulith, who is also Lao Foreign Minister and Director of the LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, stressed that the visit contributes to strengthening the friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two states, two parties and two peoples in general as well as the two commissions in particular.

For his part, Son briefed the Lao Deputy PM on the outcome of the recent visit by a Lao delegation headed by Hiem Phommachanh, Vice Director of the LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.

Apart from taking a tour of Vientiane, the Vietnamese officials will pay working visits to Luong Prabang province./.
