ThePasaxon, the newspaper of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, praisedprominent achievements in the two countries’ friendship andcomprehensive cooperation while reviewing outcomes of the bilateralconnection in politics, diplomacy, defence-security, economics, culture,education-training and human resources development.

Otherspress agencies such as Lao Nation, Vientiane May and Vientiane Timesnewspapers, Laos News Agency (KPL), and the Lao National Television havealso underlined the fruit of the bilateral cooperation in many fieldsas well as the traditional friendship and special solidarity andcomprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Lastyear, two-way trade between the two countries hit a record high of 1billion USD. The figure reached 766 million USD in the first half of2014, up 51 percent from a year earlier.

So far thisyear, Vietnam has invested about 5 billion USD in Laos, ranking thirdamong foreign investors in the landlocked country, according to theMinistry of Planning and Investment.-VNA

Vietnamese, Lao foreign ministers hold online talks
