Laos pledges to bolster ties with Vietnam

The statement was made by Sounthon Saynhachac, Deputy Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations cum Deputy Foreign Minister, while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung on March 22.

Saynhachac affirmed that Laos ’ achievements over the past 58 years are inseparable from Vietnam ’s effective assistance. She pledged to closely work with the Vietnam Embassy in Laos to develop bilateral comprehensive links, therefore meeting the aspirations of the two peoples.

For his part, Hung hailed the great achievements in various fields that Laos has reaped over the past 58 years under the sound leadership of the LDRP.

He highlighted the successful organisation of the 2012 Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year, and said that Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s recent visit will drive bilateral comprehensive links in all fields.

The diplomat said he believes under the leadership of the LDRP, the fraternal people of Laos will improve the country’s position in the region and the world. Bilateral special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation will deepen and become more effective, he added.-VNA
