The National Assembly Standing Committee (13 th tenure) on January 7 issued a resolution to suspend Chau Thi Thu Nga, a National Assembly deputy from Hanoi, for her alleged fraud over a housing project.
Under Resolution No. 866/NQ-UBTVQH13, the Committee concurred with the Prosecutor General’s request in Public Letter 4866/VKSTC-V1 dated December 31, 2014, on launching criminal proceedings against Nga over allegedly committing fraud to appropriate assets, in accordance with Article 139 of the Criminal Code.
On the evening the same day, the police detained Nga, who is Chairwoman of the Land and Housing Construction and Investment JSC (Housing Group), and conducted a raid of her house in Bach Mai precinct, Hai Ba Trung district.-VNA
