Hanoi (VNA) –
Legislators mulled over several bills on May 29, the eighth working day of the fifth sitting of the 14th National Assembly.

In the morning, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha, on behalf of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, presented a proposal of the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Education Law.

Phan Thanh Binh, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children, delivered a report on assessing the above-said document.

After hearing the National Assembly Standing Committee’s report on acquiring feedback on the draft Law on Cyber Security, the deputies deliberated contentious contents of the bill.

They focused on protecting important information about national security and ensuring information security in domestic and foreign agencies and organisations which provide services online or own information systems in Vietnam, among others.

In the afternoon, they discussed in groups the draft Law on Vietnamese Coast Guard and the revised draft Law on Amnesty.

The lawmakers are scheduled to look into the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education, the programme on building laws and ordinances in 2019 and adjustments of the programme on building laws and ordinances in 2018 on March 30 morning.
