Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th National Assembly approved the resolution on the investment policy for the National Target Programme on Drug Prevention and Control by 2030 at its ongoing 8th session in Hanoi on November 27 afternoon.
The programme aims to harness the collective strength of the political system and the entire population in drug prevention and control. It highlights the continuous and synchronous implementation of solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of the work across three key areas - supply, demand, and harm reduction.
According to a report presented at the session, the NA Standing Committee ordered reviewing and supplementing special policies to serve the implementation of the programme. It required the Government to develop a detailed plan for each phase, paying special attention to infrastructure and equipment for drug rehabilitation facilities and international cooperation during the implementation.
The legislature is scheduled to pass 15 laws and three resolutions while discussing 13 draft laws during the 8th session, divided into two phases, with the first from October 21 to November 13 and the second from November 20 to November 30 morning./.

The Government proposed the allocation of over 22.45 trillion VND (887.2 million USD) to the National Target Programme for Drug Prevention and Control until 2030 at the ongoing eighth session of 15th National Assembly (NA) on November 8.
