- President Luong Cuong chaired a working session with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs – the standing agency of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform - in Hanoi on November 27.

The meeting aims to put forth key orientations and tasks for judicial reform in the coming time, and discuss regulations on the steering committee's functions, tasks, authority and working relations. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 2024 US-Vietnam Business Summit, jointly held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Hanoi on November 27.

Themed “Policies and approaches to ensure mutual beneficial commercial relations”, the event also saw the presence of US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper and ambassadors of other countries, and leaders of the two countries’ businesses; and was attended by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former US Trade Representative Michael Froman via videoconference. - Visiting Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with Speaker of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade in Copenhagen on November 26, during which he proposed the host side promote cooperation in renewable energy, marine economy, green growth, and circular economy, in line with Vietnam's development priorities.

Soren Gade said Ha's visit contributes to promoting the comprehensive partnership and green strategic partnership between the two countries. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved a nine-day holiday for the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) – Vietnam’s largest traditional celebration.

The break will last from January 25 (the 26th day of the last month of the Year of the Dragon) to February 2 (the fifth day of the Year of the Snake). Read full story

- A high-level policy forum on creative startups from local initiatives to global ambitions, taking place in the northern port city of Hai Phong on November 26, underscored Vietnam’s readiness to embrace and implement international cooperation toward building a sustainable and globally-connected startup ecosystem.

As part of this year’s National Innovative Entrepreneurship Day (Techfest Vietnam 2024), the forum attracted a large number of domestic and international participants to two key discussions on leveraging local advantages to develop creative startup ecosystems and multilateral collaboration for going global. - The 2024 Vietnam – Asia Smart City Summit will take place in Hanoi on December 2-3 under the theme “Smart city – Digital economy – Sustainable development", according to the Vietnam Software & IT Services Association (VINASA).

Vietnam ready to cooperate closely with US in receiving deported nationals

Hang made the statement while answering a reporter’s query about Vietnam’s handling and receiving of Vietnamese nationals deported from the US, as President Donald Trump has announced that he will enact a deportation campaign against illegal immigrants or those with prior criminal records, which include Vietnamese.
