Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

- Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, accompanied by a high-level delegation of Vietnam, arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 11am on November 21 (local time), starting their three-day official visit to Malaysia, at an invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his spouse.

Welcoming them at Kuala Lumpur International Airport were Malaysia’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Chang Lih Kang and his wife; chief protocol officer Datuk Rozainor bin Ramli; Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato’ Tan Yang Thai; and Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh, among others. - Vietnam and Malaysia have elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership on the occasion of the ongoing official visit to Malaysia by Party General Secretary To Lam.

- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam’s Party and State left Hanoi on November 21 for an official visit to Cambodia, where the top legislator will attend the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and the 11th Plenary Session of International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).

The four-day trip is made at the invitation of President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Khuon Sudary, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the ICAPP Chung Eui-yong. Read full story

- Vietnam has freshly secured re-election as a member of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the 2025-2031 term, garnering 175 out of 183 votes.

This marks the Southeast Asian nation’s second term on the legal body, following its initial tenure from 2019 to 2025. In Asia-Pacific, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea joined Vietnam in securing the membership. Read full story
