Malaysia promotes ASEAN's digital economy, green initiatives

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to deliver a keynote address at the second ASEAN Future Forum (AFF), to be held in Hanoi on February 25-26.

As Malaysia prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, the PM’s speech is expected to focus on key regional issues, including digital economy, green growth, and sustainable development.

Speaking to the press, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Datuk Tan Yang Thai said PM Anwar’s address at the AFF will emphasise ASEAN’s efforts in addressing pressing issues to ensure sustainable development to secure the future of member countries. As ASEAN Chair, Malaysia will advocate for its national goals and priorities while highlighting its stance on key regional discussions.

The ambassador stressed that the AFF serves as a crucial platform to outline priority issues and action plans for ASEAN member states ahead of the ASEAN Summit. In addition to delivering the keynote speech, PM Anwar is also scheduled to engage in high-level discussions./.
