Memorial stele for war victims inaugurated in Thua Thien-Hue

A stele commemorating 87 civilians who were killed by the US troops during war was inaugurated in Phong Dien district, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue , on December 16.
A stele commemorating 87 civilians who were killed by the US troopsduring war was inaugurated in Phong Dien district, the centralprovince of Thua Thien-Hue , on December 16.

The black granite stele was built on a 204sq.m site at a cost of 300 million VND ( 14,150 USD).

At the ceremony, local authorities and families of the victims offeredincense in remembrance of heroic martyrs and local people who laid downtheir lives for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

The ill-fated victims were savagely killed during an uprising against the US invaders in 1968.-VNA

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year
