In their letters sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and theVietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA) on August11, the group’s members expressed their friendship solidarity with thevictims and sympathy over the sufferings and losses caused by the war,especially the Agent Orange disaster.
The Mexican MPs also agreedto support Vietnamese people, including the AO victims, in the fightfor justice, demanding the US side to take full responsibility for greatdamage it brought about in Vietnam.
On August 4, Politburomember of the Mexican Labour Party and Head of the Mexico-VietnamFriendship Parliamentarians Group Pedro Vazquez Gonzalez also sent aletter to VFF and VAVA, affirming his consistent solidarity with theVietnamese people and AO/dioxin victims.
Meanwhile, theVietnamese Embassy in France on August 10 presented more than 8,560 EURand 2,140 USD to Vietnamese AO/dioxin victims.
The sum wascontributed by the embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in France, inresponse to the movement “Acting for AO/dioxin victims in Vietnam”launched by the VFF Central Committee and the VAVA to mark 50 years ofthe day US troops began to spray the toxic chemical in Vietnam (August10, 1961)./.
