Hanoi (VNA) – Two pilots died after their military training aircraft crashed near Suoi Dau lake in Cam Lam district, the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on June 14.
The YAK-52 of the 920 Regiment lost contact with the operation control centre at 09:35 on the way back to the airport after completing the training lesson.
Captain Le Xuan Truong of the First Squad of the 920 Regiment and Sergeant Dao Van Long were confirmed to be the casualties in the crash. Truong died inside the aircraft, while Long died on the way to the hospital.
The Ministry of Defence has directed relevant agencies to coordinate with the Air Defence-Air Force to investigate the cause of the incident, while promptly addressing the consequences of the case and support the families of the victims.-VNA
