Hanoi (VNA) – A high-level delegation of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, led by Minister General Luong Tam Quang, paid working visits to Spain and Germany from October 22 to 29, at the invitation of law enforcement agencies of the host countries.

In Spain, Quang met with Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) Enrique Fernando Santiago Romero, who expressed his delight at Vietnam’s recent socio-economic development and party-building achievements.

Quang stressed that the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) always treasures its solidarity and traditional ties with the PCE. He also acknowledged the PCE’s support and assistance throughout Vietnam’s construction and development process.

The delegation also held discussions with Spanish law enforcement agencies, exchanging information, sharing experiences in combating various types of crime, and seeking consensus on measures to strengthen cooperation in the coming time.

Additionally, the delegation visited a major Spanish corporation specialising in manufacturing equipment and vehicles for police and security forces.

In Germany, Quang had meetings with the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, and the Foreign Intelligence Service to deepen cooperation on shared security concerns. Both sides agreed to prevent any organisation or individual from using each other's territory to harm the other’s national security or spread misinformation that could divide the bilateral relations.

Furthermore, they highlighted training collaboration to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement officers, particularly in the prevention of drug trafficking, cybercrime and terrorism as well as in forensic science and immigration control.

The two sides pledged to ensure the safety and security of diplomatic missions, and one country's citizens who are working, studying, and residing in the other's territory. They also agreed to consult and support each other at multilateral law enforcement forums where both nations participate.

During the working trips, the delegation also visited the Vietnamese embassies in Spain and Germany./.
