Hanoi (VNA) – Minister of PublicSecurity Gen. To Lam hosted a reception in Hanoi on August 18 for new RussianAmbassador to Vietnam Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich.

Lam expressed his belief that the ambassador will reap importantsuccesses during his tenure, contributing to fostering Vietnam - Russia ties.

According to the minister, security relationshiphas become one of the pillars in bilateral ties. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic,the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Russian security and law enforcementagencies still carried out important cooperation activities with encouragingresults.

Stepanovich, for his part, vowed that in hisnew position, he will pay further attention to promoting bilatrealcomprehensive strategic partnership, and ties between the Russian security andlaw enforcement agencies and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, forthe benefit of the two peoples, and for peace and stability in the region andthe world./.
