Ministry shuts down more unlicensed websites

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) shut down the websites www.123doc.vn and www.khoahoc.com.vn for operating without licenses, MIC representatives said on December 5.

While www.123doc.vn operated as a social network, www.khoahoc.com.vn ran as an information website.

Theministry also fined www.123doc.vn owner, Nguyen Duy Khanh, fromHanoi’s Hoan Kiem district 13 million VND (619 USD) andwww.khoahoc.com.vn creator, Nguyen Ngoc Hai, from Long Bien district 8million VND (380.9 USD) for setting up the websites without licenses.

Thefines were levied in accordance with Items 2 and 3 at Article 63 of theGovernment’s Decree 174/2013/ND-CP on penalising administrativeviolations regarding the fields of post, telecommunications, informationtechnology, and radio frequency.

Over the last several months, the MIC has undertaken a series of drastic actions to correct websites’ operations in Vietnam.

OnOctober 25, MIC Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan told the onlinenewspaper Vietnam Plus that the ministry will temporarily suspendoperations or shut down unlicensed websites.-VNA

Hanoi puts 28 more electric buses into operation

The new VinFast Green Bus vehicles, manufactured in 2026, have a capacity of 60 passengers. They are equipped with low floors for easier boarding, facilities for people with disabilities, air conditioning and other modern amenities to improve passengers’ comfort and travel experience.

500-day campaign brings fallen soldiers closer to home

Information provided by local residents in Son La province helped authorities find the remains of two fallen soldiers after four days of searching. At Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City, 701 sets of remains and 304 sets of personal items have been recovered, while in Ca Mau province, more than 3,000 unidentified graves have been excavated and biological samples collected.

Vietnam, Japan promote exchanges on law and justice

Speaking at the working session, Chief Judge of the People’s Court of Hanoi - Region 2 Hoang Ngoc Thanh said the meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to share practical experience in judicial activities, thereby enhancing mutual understanding of the laws and practices governing the settlement of IP-related cases in Vietnam and Japan.
