The Vietnam News Agency’s Fund for AO Victims has worked with Hanoi Yoga Centre to present gifts for Agent Orange/dioxin victims in the central province of Thanh Hoa.
The delegation has presented 60 gifts worth 300,000 VND each to AO victims and two gifts worth 1.5 million VND each to two seriously affected families in Nam Giang commune, Tho Xuan district.
According to statistics released by the Thanh Hoa Association of AO Victims, up to 22,000 people in the province have been exposed to AO/dioxin, including 15,000 people having directly suffered from deadly chemicals. Particularly, there are families with four or even five members being AO victims.
The association has conducted numerous practical activities to support AO victims and their families. In 2009 and the first five months of this year, it handed over nearly 2,000 presents, helped build 35 houses worth over 2.2 billion VND and encouraged 20 victims to enter charitable centres for treatment./.
