Da Nang (VNA) – The Su That (Truth) NationalPolitical Publishing House will help Laos choose 10-15 books on Party andpolitical system building, laws, and socio-economic development issues ofVietnam to translate into Lao language.

An agreement to this effect was reached between the Su That National PoliticalPublishing House and the Lao National Publishing and Book Distribution House onMay 23 in the central city of Da Nang.

Each year, the Lao side will also send 2-3 officials to Vietnam to studyVietnamese.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of the Su That NationalPolitical Publishing House Pham Chi Thanh said that in 2018, the agencycoordinated with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos toselect 15 Vietnamese books about building the political system, reinforcing andstrengthening the legal system and experience in socio-economic development totranslate into Lao language.

Thanh expressed his hope that the Lao National Publishing and BookDistribution House will help strengthen connection with the board forverification of books to be translated into Laos, thus ensuring the progressand quality of the work.

Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Lao National Publishing and BookDistribution House Vivanh Chanthakhot thanked the Vietnamese side for buildingthe office, printing factory, warehouse and providing printing equipment forthe Lao agency, thus ensuring its stable operation.

He said he hopes the Su That National Political Publishing Housewill continue assisting the Lao National Publishing and Book Distribution Housein personnel training, enhancing the capacity of its staff and providing moreVietnamese courses for Lao officials. -VNA

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year

The province's delegation of National Assembly deputies, in coordination with relevant agencies, presented 600 gifts across 11 communes, including 100 in Tap Son commune and 50 in each of the others. The programme, worth 300 million VND (11,300 USD), was funded by Agribank’s Vinh Long branch.
