-The Politburo has decided to give stern criticism of Ministerof Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and demand him to make serious self-criticism,learn from lessons and promptly direct remedy for violations and mistakes atthe Foreign Ministry and report to the Politburo.

Thedecision was made at a meeting of the Party Central Committee's Politburo andSecretariat chaired by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi onDecember 27.Read full story 

-Vietnam’s second sapper unit for UnitedNations (UN) peacekeeping operations stepped out at a ceremony held by theMinistry of National Defence in Hanoi on December 27.

-PermanentVice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man launched the first DienHong award – the national press award on the NA and People’s Councils, during aceremony in Hanoi on December 27.

-Vietnam’saquatic products are expected to earn about a record 11 billion USD from exportthis year, up 23.8% annually and 22% compared to the plan, said Deputy Ministerof Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien.

-Theagro-forestry-fishery export turnover in 2022 posted a new record, hitting over53.2 billion USD in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%, according to theMinistry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

-Credit growth reached about 13% this year as of December 27,Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Dao Minh Tu told a pressconference in Hanoi on tasks for the banking sector next year.

Reform drive expected to remove barriers, unlock growth momentum
