- The Vietnamese Government always treasures and wishes to strengthen its relations with Lithuania, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis in Hanoi on October 25.

Chinh highlighted the first foreign minister-level visit between the two countries since they established diplomatic ties in 1992, and expressed his belief that it will be a milestone contributing to promoting the bilateral relations in various fields. Read full story

- Vietnam and the US should further promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more effective and substantive manner, focusing cooperation in economics - trade - investment, science - technology, innovation, digital transformation, semiconductor chip production, and high quality human resources training, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The PM made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on October 25 for Chief Economist at the US Department of State Emily Blanchard, who is on a working visit to Vietnam. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 25 suggested Vietnam and Thailand elevate their strategic partnership to a new height, at a reception for Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from October 25-26.

Chinh acknowledged Parnpree's selection of Vietnam for his first overseas trip after his appointment as Deputy PM and FM of Thailand, saying he believes that the visit will contribute to deepening of the strategic partnership. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Anthony Capuano, President and CEO of Marriott International Inc - the US hotel operator, franchisor and licensor in Hanoi on October 25.

During the reception, the Vietnamese leader congratulated Marriott Group on its successes in developing high-end resort hotel chains in the world as well as in Vietnam, saying that economic-trade, investment and financial cooperation between Vietnam and the US is the main pillar and motivation to promote the bilateral relations. Read full story

- Senior officials from Vietnam and seven other Southeast Asian nations, and representatives from United Nations agencies and international organisations looked into civil registration, legal identity documentation, and the prevention of statelessness at a roundtable in Hanoi on October 25.

- Standard Chartered Bank maintained robust 2024 GDP growth forecast of 6.7% for Vietnam in its latest macro-economic updates about the Southeast Asian nation.

The bank has lowered the country’s 2023 GDP growth to 5.0% y/y from the previous 5.4%. The revised forecast would require Q4 growth of 7.0% y/y which may still be challenging. Read full story

- Three out of top ten Vietnamese domestic brands have demonstrated commendable business performance in 2022, closely linked to their extensive digital transformation activities, according to the Vietnam Customers Experience Excellence (CEE) report by KPMG for the year 2022.

Specifically, Viettel Group, for example, has announced that the total revenue reached 163 trillion VND, with pre-tax profit exceeding 43 trillion VND. These numbers represent a growth rate of 6% and 3% respectively compared to the previous year, marking the highest profit level for the group in the past five years. Read full story
