- General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his spouse will pay a State visit to Vietnam from September 10-13.

The trip will be made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam and his spouse, announced the committee’s Commission for External Relations. Read full story

- President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embaló and his spouse arrived in Hanoi on September 5 evening, starting a four-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife.

This is the first visit to Vietnam by the President of Guinea-Bissau since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973, According to Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang. Read full story

- Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Tan Cuong held bilateral meetings with some delegation heads on the sidelines of the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces’ Meeting (ACDFM-21) in Vientiane on September 5.

Meeting Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr, Cuong underlined the similarities in interest between the two countries, and the development of the bilateral strategic partnership in politics, economy, national defence- security, education-training, culture and people-to-people exchange. - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed Vietnamese representative agencies in China and the Philippines to proactively coordinate with local authorities to secure safe harbour for Vietnamese vessels, support rescue operations and ship repairs if necessary, said its spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang.

She made the statement during the ministry’s regular press briefing in Hanoi on September 5 in response to a reporter's question about coordination efforts to protect Vietnamese citizens and vessels as super typhoon Yagi is about to land with winds reaching level 16. Read full story

- Deputy General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Nguyen Thi Su on September 5 received Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Pasaxon newspaper of Laos Syvanh Homsayadeth on the occasion of his working visit to Vietnam.

- Protecting national digital sovereignty in cyberspace requires a strong and capable information security force, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung stressed at a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Authority of Information Safety (AIS) (September 9, 2014 - 2024) in Hanoi on September 5.

Hung said ensuring information security in cyberspace is as important as ensuring safety for people in the real world, but its scale is much bigger. - Vietnam's fruit export revenue hit 4.63 billion USD in the first eight months of 2024, representing an increase of 30.6% compared to the same period last year, thanks to the opening of several key markets.

- Measures for securing net zero emissions in tourism were discussed at a high-level travel forum on green transformation held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said tourism is an important economic sector, so it needs to make corresponding contributions to Vietnam’s roadmap for low emission development. - Dong Nai province, an FDI magnet in the southern region, posted a trade surplus of 4.2 billion USD during January – August on the back of the recovery of the global market, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

During the eight-month span, the province shipped some 15.5 billion USD worth of products abroad, and imported 11.3 billion USD, up 8.6% and 8.7% against the same time last year, respectively.
