Mozambique’s Assembly President to pay official visit to Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – President of the Assembly of Mozambique EsperancaLaurinda Francisco Nhiuane Bias, her spouse and a parliament delegation willpay an official visit to Vietnam from June 18 – 23.
The visit will be made at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman VuongDinh Hue, according to the NA’s Committee for Foreign Affairs./.
The Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP-Maputo), one of Mozambique’s leading educational institutions, hopes to strengthen cooperation in scholarly affairs and student exchange with Vietnamese universities so as to diversify educational collaboration between the two countries.
A Vesak ritual was hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and the Embassy of Vietnam in Mozambique to mark Buddha’s 2,565th birthday and to pray for peace on May 26 in the capital Maputo.
More than 90 million VND (about 4,400 USD) were collected during a fundraising ceremony to call for donations to Vietnam’s national COVID-19 vaccine fund at the Vietnamese embassy in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, on June 9.
Mozambique is among the African countries with which Vietnam prioritises promoting relations, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed on June 6.
