Museums start restoration of ancient cannon

The Vietnam Museum of History and the Ha Tinh Museum on April 6 started the restoration of a cannon dating back from the age of King Ming Mang in 1821.

Artisan Tran Ngoc Tri, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Jewellery Vocational Training Centre is in charge of the restoration.

This is one of the three ancient cannons found at the Cam Nhuong seaport, Cam Xuyen district, the central province of Ha Tinh , in August 2003.

Each of them weighs over 1 tonne and is measured at 2.45m in length./.
