Singapore Minister National Development Khaw Boon Wan said his ministry is particularly hopeful of Myanmar becoming a good food source.

Singapore Minister National Development Khaw Boon Wan said hisministry is particularly hopeful of Myanmar becoming a good foodsource.

The minister was quoted by local press as saying that hisministry was working closely with the local food industry to diversifyfood sources.

Khaw said the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority(AVA) will facilitate partnerships between Singaporean farmers andMyanmar supply chain partners.

Through more exchanges and transferof technical expertise from the AVA, Myanmar farmers will, over time,be able to increase their food exports to Singapore , the ministeradded.

According to the National Development Minister,Singaporeans can expect to see more vegetables and seafood fromMyanmar.-VNA
