NA leader hails Phu Yen’s renewal efforts

The NAleader was in his two-day inspection tour of the province that ended onJan. 31 to inquire into the province’s situation in order to builddocuments to be submitted to the XIth National Party Congress.

Trong is also a Party Politburo member and Deputy Head of the StandingSubcommittee of the Party Political Platform and Report Sub-committeeat the XIth National Party Congress.

Trong highlighted Phu Yen’s achievements in socio-economic development and Party building and development.

He said the reality in the province is an additional foundation toaffirm that the path to socialism is totally correct and people’sbelief in the Party will be further consolidated.

He went on to say that the Party and State always pay due attention toimplementing social policies, narrowing the gap between the rich andthe poor, increasing environmental protection and boosting sustainabledevelopment apart from economic growth.

The reality in Phu Yen has clarified many emerging issues in devising development policies for the coming period, he said.

The development of cooperatives in Phu Yen proves the necessity forcollective economy to exist in the national economy, he noted.

He emphasised the need for the province to renovate its operationalmechanism, improve human resources’ quality and facilitate thedevelopment of cooperative economic models through capital and taxpreferential policies and agro-fisheries encouragement.

According to the provincial authorities’ report, renewal policies havecreated thorough socio-economic changes in the province.

Its economy has seen a comprehensive development in scale, quality andcompetitiveness. From 1990 to 2010, the proportion of its industry andconstruction have risen from 11.9 percent to 34.9 percent and services,from 32.4 percent to 36.4 percent while agro-forestry and fisheries hasfallen from 55.7 percent to 28.7 percent, said the report.

Phu Yen’s rural infrastructure and local people’s life have beenimproved with all communes having access to national power grid andmedical clinics and being accessible by cars.

While in Phu Yen, NA Chairman Trong toured Hoa Phong commune’s servicebusiness and agriculture cooperative that won the Labour Hero title forits effective business.

The NA leader inquired into economic restructuring and the settlementof agriculture and farmer-related issues in Ea Cha Rang commune in SonHoa district where more than 70 percent of population are E De ethnicpeople.

Additionally, Trong toured Vung Ro port in Dong Hoa district, the Ba HaRiver hydro-electric power plant, and the Phu Yen Health Materials andPharmaceutical Company./.
