The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee concluded its four-day 13 th session in Hanoi on December 14.

The NA Standing Committee gave opinions on major issues and amassed ideas on the revised draft Land Law from ministries, departments and people from all walks of life.

Addressing the event, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the handling of land reclamation and resettlement requires a lot of new regulations that will help with the creation of tighter implementation process.

Many existing regulations on compensation and site clearance are no longer suitable for today’s reality. In fact, the Land Law has the largest number of documents in the country’s legal system.

Hung said the amended draft law needs further discussion, especially with the people to minimise Governmental and ministerial guiding regulations.

The NA Standing Committee agreed the Land Law amendment is critical to the life of people, needing further consideration and a careful and cautious approach.-VNA
