Hanoi (VNA) – The Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) will convene its 27th session in September to discuss several important issues, said NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The top legislator released the information while delivering the closing remarks of the committee’s 26th session in Hanoi on August 13.

She urged the Government, legislative agencies, and relevant units and organisations to promptly prepare for the agenda of the meeting, which is scheduled to last for eight days.

The 26th session concluded following a Q&A session, fielded by Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Do Van Chien and Minister of Public Security To Lam.

In the afternoon, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Le Minh Hung further cleared up the queries, NA Chairwoman Ngan said, noting that the session took place swiftly.

During the session, the full-time legislators gave their opinions on eight laws and examined the implementation of policies on the management and use of foreign loans for 2011-2016, she added.

They also looked into the feedback deadline of September 30 for all issues regarding the five-year plans on finance and mid-term public investment, and the use of Government bonds and standby capital of the mid-term investment plan.

The top legislator asked the Government and other concerned committees and agencies to acquire the NA Standing Committee’s opinions in order to complete draft laws and adopted resolutions. –VNA
