NA strives to improve Vietnam-Mongolia relations: top legislator

During a meeting in Hanoi, he further said that the NA always supports the two countries’ cooperation, meeting the interests and aspirations of each country’ people.

Welcoming the Mongolian President on his first visit to Vietnam, the top legislator said the visit will open new prospects for the bilateral relations.

He spoke highly of the outcomes of the talks between President Elbegdorj and his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang and said the two countries should to fully tap their potentials and strength for further relationship, especially in economics, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world over.

The host praised achievements the Mongolian people have recorded in their national development and expressed his belief that the Sate and people of Mongolia will reap more fruits in socio-economic development and raising people’s living standards.

The Vietnam NA wishes to boost cooperation with the Mongolian Parliament, he said, urging the two sides to increase the exchange of delegations and experience in law making.

The top legislator suggested the Vietnam-Mongolia Joint Committee work with each other closely to celebrate the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2014 (November 17, 1954).

Sharing NA Chairman Hung’s views, President Elbegdorj expressed hope for enhanced legislative ties in various areas and exchange between parliamentarians, thus fostering the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The guest applauded great achievements the Vietnamese people have attained in national construction and development.

Vietnam and Mongolia boast time-honoured relationship, he noted, highlighting the two countries’ close coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums.

The President expressed his hope that Vietnam will back Mongolia to enhance its linkages with other ASEAN countries.

On this occasion, NA Chairman Trong asked President Elbegdorj to convey his invitation to Mongolian Speaker of Parliament Enkhbold Zandaakhuu to attend the 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to be held in Vietnam in April 2015.-VNA
