NA Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man speaks at the event (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Permanent National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man December 27 called on individuals and organisations at home and abroad to uphold the traditional of mutual support and take more practical actions to help Agent Orange (AO) victims.
Meeting delegatesto the fourth Congress honouring AO victims for the 2021-2026period in Hanoi, Man said over the pastyears, the Party, NA, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front and the entiresociety have paid special attention to overcoming the consequences of war andchemical war in particular with positive results. A number of individuals andorganisations at home and abroad offered material and spiritual support to AOvictims, helping them gradually settle down their lives and integrate into thecommunity.
He stressed that dealingwith the consequences of post-war toxic chemicals is both an urgent, long-termand humanitarian task and responsibility of the whole society.
He also urgedindividuals, international organisations and peace lovers globally to act to prevent the threats of war and chemical war in particular in the future in anycountry, as well as join hands to support Vietnamese AO victims.
President of theVietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) Sen. Lieut. GenNguyen Van Rinh and delegates at the event shared the view that VAVA’sactivities have become increasingly effective and practical, deserving anorganisation protecting AO/dioxin victims, a common house and spiritual supportof its members./.
