Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) wantsto have more exchanges and share experiences with other countries’parliaments, including the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s, to better carryout its functions, especially in building and improving Vietnam’s legalsystem.
NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu delivered thestatement when hosting Jin Hyeong, Chairman of the PublicAdministration and Security Committee under the RoK’s National Assemblyin Hanoi on March 10.
The NA Vice Chairman expressed his pleasure at the fine development ofthe two countries’ friendly and cooperative relations and the tiesbetween the their legislative bodies.
In recent years, delegations from the two legislatures have exchangedvisits, helping strengthening mutual understanding and joint efforts.
The two legislative bodies should continue promoting exchanges andactively carry out the signed cooperation agreement, said Luu.
For his part, Jin – Hyeong praised Vietnam’s rapid economic developmentover recent years and offered his view that Vietnam had affirmed itsposition in the region and in the international arena.
The Korean official stressed that the promotion of bilateralcooperation benefits both the RoK and Vietnam and that he expects theVietnamese NA and government will create more favourable conditions forRoK businesses, especially in administrative procedures.
The RoK will go on reforming laws and policies to create the bestconditions for foreigners, including some 90,000 Vietnameseexpatriates, the Korean official said.
On this occasion, Jin – Hyeong expressed his hope that Vietnam wouldcontinue backing up the peace process and nuclear non-proliferation onthe Korean Peninsular./.
