The installation of the vapour cycle for the first turbine of Vung Ang I thermo-electricity project was finished on December 16, marking 2 months ahead of schedule.
The two-turbine project in the central province of Ha Tinh , designed to have a capacity of 1,200 MW, is the largest thermo-power plant fuelled by coal so far in Vietnam .
Once completed, the plant will generate 7.2 billion kWh/year, including 6.71 billion kWh for commercial purpose.
The 1.17 billion USD project is invested by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (LILAMA) is the general contractor under the form of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)./.
