Netherlands funds fresh water project in Ba Ria-Vung Tau

The Netherlands will provide non-refundable aid worth nearly 260 billion VND (12.38 million USD) for the building of two water plants in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
The Netherlands will provide non-refundable aid worth nearly 260 billionVND (12.38 million USD) for the building of two water plants in thesouthern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Dutch ConsulateGeneral in Ho Chi Minh City and the provincial People’s Committee onAugust 20.

The first plant, with a capacity of 20,000cu.m per day, will be located in Long Tan commune, Dat Do district,while the second one, in Bong Trang commune, Xuyen Moc distrct, has acapacity of 5,400 cu.m per day.

Once completed, the two works will provide fresh water for daily life and production for 35,000 local rural households.

According to Timvan Galen, Chief Advisor of the Dutchgovernment-funded programme, ORIO, the project is one of the first sevenones signed by ORIO all over the world. It is currently funding 66projects worldwide, focusing on fresh water, health care and energy.-VNA
