Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Le Ba Vinh presented his letter of credence to Kim Yong-nam, President of the Presidium of the DPRK’s Supreme People’s Assembly, in Pyongyang on October 18.

Accepting the letter, Kim congratulated Vinh on his new mission and recalled the tradition of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Vietnam, nurtured by President Kim Il Sung and President Ho Chi Minh, that has been fundamental to expanding bilateral ties even today.

He reiterated his country’s consistent stance towards developing relations with Vietnam, saying he believes that with concerted efforts made by the two sides’ leaders and peoples, bilateral ties can be further reinforced and deepened. Kim added that he has faith that Ambassador Vinh will contribute to efforts.

Vinh thanked Kim for his time and affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always treasure the traditional friendship with the DPRK. He vowed that he would endeavour to bolster the development of relations between the two nations.–VNA
