Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on November 4 promulgated a decree which stipulates the management of foreign-registered vehicles brought into Vietnam for travel purposes.
Under Decree No. 152/2013/ND-CP, left-hand steering wheel and less-than-9-seater passenger cars and motorbikes that are registered in foreign countries and used with foreign registration plates will be licensed to travel in Vietnam for no later than 30 days after obtaining approval of the Transport Ministry.
Foreign drivers, who own passports or identity documents valid for at least six months since the departure date, must have entry visa (except visa-waiver cases) and qualified driving license.
The decree will take effect from December 25.-VNA
