Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s official visits to the Netherlands , Uzbekistan and Ukraine from Sept. 27 to Oct. 6 have created a strong momentum for fostering cooperation between Vietnam and the three countries, especially in economics, trade and investment.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son made the remark to the press following the visits, which were the first to the three countries by PM Dung after he was re-elected as Prime Minister of Vietnam and the first by a high-ranking Vietnamese leader to Uzbekistan .
“I believe the success of the visits will help deepen the relations between Vietnam and the three countries, thus meeting the interests of all sides,” Son said, adding that high-level agreements reached during the visits will be foundations for further promoting cooperation between Vietnam and the three countries in all aspects, especially areas of priority.
In politics, the sides agreed to strengthen high-level political dialogues, the exchange of delegations at all levels and cooperation between localities, which will help realise commitments made during the visits.
According to Son , Vietnam will coordinate more closely and effectively with the three countries at regional and international forums, helping step up relations between ASEAN and other regions.
He also noted that PM Dung and the countries’ leaders agreed on a series of effective measures to boost economic, trade and investment relations, especially setting up partnerships between businesses.
Vietnam and the Netherlands agreed to strengthen cooperation in five areas of priority and expanding bilateral ties to other potential fields while creating conditions for the two countries’ businesses to set up partnerships, and increase investment in shipbuilding, energy, climate services, training, scientific research and technological transfer.
Vietnam and Uzbekistan will strengthen trade promotion, import-export support activities, diversify import-export products, boost contact and cooperation between small- and medium-sized, and private enterprises of the two countries.
Vietnam and Ukraine agreed to intensify efforts to expand cooperation between their businesses, speed up the simplification of trade procedures, encourage information exchange and seek effective cooperative forms, including the establishment of joint ventures.
The two sides will consider cooperation in energy, machinery manufacturing, air craft assembling, shipbuilding, agriculture, mining, oil and gas industry, and chemicals./.
