Cao Bang (VNA) – Secretary of the Party Committee of the northern border province of Cao Bang Tran Hong Minh on August 29 received a working delegation from Baise city of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region led by Secretary of the city’s Party Committee Huang Rusheng.

Minh emphasised that over recent years, based on the direction of high-ranking leaders of the two countries, Cao Bang and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have effectively implemented the important common perceptions achieved between the leaders of the two Parties and States, opening up many new prospects for friendly and substantive cooperation in various fields, including economics, trade, investment, transportation connectivity, cultural exchange, and border management.

In the coming time, Cao Bang will actively coordinate with Baise to effectively implement cooperation agreements, contributing to the development of the border areas of the two sides. Accordingly, they will enhance friendship exchanges and cooperation on tourism, culture, and social fields; and study and develop a tourism route from Cao Bang's Pac Bo to Baise.

In the field of agriculture, Cao Bang eyes opportunities to cooperate in technology transfer, applying smart and high technology for cultivating fruit tree varieties and to promote investment in agricultural products with potential and value. Additionally, it aims to enhance transportation connectivity, build infrastructure at border gates, and open and upgrade border gates.

Minh proposed the Chinese city continue to invest in infrastructure construction at border gates; speed up the opening of the Po Peo (Vietnam) – Yuexu (China) border gate pair; encourage regular customs clearance on weekends and public holidays at the Tra Linh (Vietnam) - Longbang (China) border gate, including the Na Doong (Vietnam) – Naxi (China) route. He also suggested both sides explore a pilot project for building a smart border gate at Tra Linh – Longbang; and complete procedures for submitting to relevant authorities for approval of the construction project for a specialised freight transport route at the Soc Giang (Vietnam) - Pingmeng (China) border gate.

In terms of border management cooperation, the two sides will continue to promote and effectively implement the three legal documents on the land border between Vietnam and China, as well as related agreements.

Huang expressed his hope that both sides will further step up meetings between their leaders to advance the common perceptions of the high-ranking leaders of the two countries and provinces.

He proposed the two sides further promote cooperation in agriculture, especially in the cultivation of fruit and vegetables, adding that Cao Bang can connect its goods with trains transporting agricultural products from Baise to Beijing and Central Europe./.
