Four brothers from New Zealand have raised over 200,000 USD after a cross-country ride on motorbike for a project to improve maternal and newborn health care in the central region.

The four handed over the money to the East Meets West Foundation at a recent ceremony in Da Nang city.

Tom Low, Chief Financial Officer of the East Meets West pledged that the money will be used to purchase essential medical equipment and train health workers for hospitals and health clinics in Quang Nam’s Phu Ninh and Phuoc Son districts.

David, John, Paul and Richard Seton covered 2,500km along the Ho Chi Minh Trail from April 10 through May 1 on the old Honda 67 model.

David Seton, leader of the group, said they will organise more journeys to raise funds for community health care projects in Vietnam.-VNA
