Ninh Binh celebrates 20 years of establishment

The northern province of Ninh Binh on Mar. 30 celebrated the 20 th anniversary of its establishment and five years of establishment of the city with the same name.

Addressing the celebration, PrimeMinister Nguyen Tan Dung praised the province’s efforts and outcomes,saying that they have contributed to the country’s achievements over thepast 20 years.

He urged Ninh Binh to uphold its spirit ofdynamism and creativity and promote its potential and advantages toaccelerate economic restructuring, serving the province’s comprehensiveand sustainable economic growth.

The province should be active ininternational integration, expand export markets and develop tourism,turning it into one of the country’s key tourist centres.

The PMdirected Ninh Binh to focus on Party and pure political system buildingtasks and accelerate administrative and legal reform.

Over thepast 20 years of development, Ninh Binh province has seen unceasingdevelopment with a high economic growth rate, stability in defence andsecurity and improved living conditions.

In 2011, the province’sGDP value rose 8.9 times higher than 1992; industrial production valueand construction, 27.71 times; service value, 12.4 times;agriculture-forestry-fishery production value, 1.73 times.

Onthis occasion, Prime Minister Dung presented the Independence Order,second class, to the Party committee, authorities and people of NinhBinh province.

Later the same day, PM Dung visitedthe Ninh Binh nitrogenous fertiliser plant at the Khanh Phu industrialzone, Yen Khanh district, which welcomed its first tonne of fertiliser.

Theplant, a key project of the Vietnam National Chemical Group and theMinistry of Industry and Trade, began construction in 2008 and has atotal investment of 660 million USD and an annual capacity of 560,000tonnes of urea fertiliser.-VNA

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1

The circular establishes a unified benchmark for foreign language proficiency across the national education system, providing a foundation for curriculum design, teaching, testing, assessment, and certification. Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year

The province's delegation of National Assembly deputies, in coordination with relevant agencies, presented 600 gifts across 11 communes, including 100 in Tap Son commune and 50 in each of the others. The programme, worth 300 million VND (11,300 USD), was funded by Agribank’s Vinh Long branch.
