Hanoi (VNA) - No wrongdoings or misconducts are allowed to occur at any stage of the upcoming high school graduation exam in order to build a civilised, modern, humane, and high-quality education system, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the country's human resources quality, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasised on June 18.
This is the largest-ever exam, with the participation of over 1.1 million students across all 63 provinces and centrally-run cities. It will take place on June 26 and 27 at 2,493 exam sites with more than 50,000 exam rooms. Approximately 200,000 personnel are expected to be mobilised for organising the exam, including officials and teachers from the education sector, as well as those from the police, military, healthcare, and electricity sectors.
Addressing a national conference on the organisation of the examination, PM Chinh requested that it must be organised in a safe, smooth, serious, objective, thoughtful, streamlined, reliable, and efficient manner, while reducing pressure and costs and fostering social consensus.
He stressed the need to absolutely ensure safety, honesty, and objectivity in all stages; ensure clear and accountable management in the organisation work, leaving no gaps and absolutely avoiding any neglect of oversight; and ensure the most favourable conditions for all candidates.
The Government leader directed the People's Committees of provinces and cities to instruct lower-level People's Committees, relevant departments, agencies, organisations, and individuals to closely and effectively coordinate with the local education sector to ensure sufficient human resources, materials, and infrastructure; guarantee absolute safety and integrity throughout the exam organising process; prepare contingency plans for any unusual situations; and ensure that every stage of the exam is under strict management and supervision, with clearly assigned responsibilities.
All steps and procedures of the exam organisation work must be reviewed and inspected, especially the assignment of duties to involved organisations and individuals, he noted.
Affirming that this is a task of utmost importance, not only for the education sector but also for the entire society, as it marks a crucial step for students - the future owners of the nation - on their path toward personal development and career building, PM Chinh expressed his hope that students will remain calm and confident, make the most of the knowledge and skills they have acquired, see this not merely as an exam, but as one of the most memorable milestones in their lives, a valuable opportunity to prove themselves and open new doors to their future.
The leader called on the entire political system, from central to local levels, along with schools, families, and society as a whole, to uphold the highest sense of responsibility, unity, and determination to successfully organise the 2025 national high school graduation exam. He also showed his hope and confidence that, with thorough preparations, strong responsibility, and close coordination, the exam will be conducted safely, seriously, fairly, and objectively, achieving the set goals.
The PM took this occasion to request the Ministry of Education and Training to continue carrying out research and soon develop a clear roadmap and specific plan for building a sufficiently large and high-quality exam question bank aligned with the national general education curriculum. He also instructed the ministry to prepare a proposal outlining the necessary conditions to pilot computer-based testing in selected localities starting in 2027, with the goal of fully implementing computer-based national high school graduation exams as soon as possible.
The ministries and sectors must provide training and guidance for localities to implement measures to prevent misconducts, especially the use of high-tech devices and artificial intelligence (AI) to cheat during the exam, PM Chinh emphasised./.
Administrative restructuring must not disrupt high school graduation exam: PM
Chairing a national conference on the organisation of the examination on June 18, the PM highlighted the historical significance of the examination, as the restructuring of provincial-level administrative units is underway and the two-tier local administration model is set to officially begin operations on July 1.
