Hanoi (VNA) - No newcases of COVID-19 infections were reported on April 8 evening in Vietnam, leaving thenational total at 251, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19Prevention and Control.
The committee said two newCOVID-19 patients were confirmed on the same day morning. One is a 50-year-oldwoman who lives in Ha Loi village, Me Linh commune, in Hanoi’s Me Linh outlying district.She is a neighbour of the 243rd patient, and the two had been inclose contacts.
The other is a64-year-old man who lives in Binh Nghia commune, Binh Luc districtin the northern province of Ha Nam. Since March 20, he has been treated at theDepartment of Gastroenterology in Ha Nam General Hospital where his son and daughter-in-law,who live in Hanoi, had been taking care of him.
The man tested positive forCOVID-19 on April 7. The source of his infection is under investigation.
There are currently 74,626people in quarantine.
Also on April 8, four more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, lifting the country’s total number of recoveries to126.
Two of the dischargedpatients are South Africans, while the other two are Vietnamesenationals./.
